When a Tired Parent Runs Out of Answers: One Family’s Hopeful Experience With Their Newborn

A few weeks ago, I received a text message from a concerned father that many parents can relate to.

His six-week-old baby girl, “M,” had been doing wonderfully after birth. She was happy, feeding well, and everything seemed to be going exactly as expected.

Then something changed.

M suddenly stopped sleeping through the night. She would wake up crying and become inconsolable. Like any loving parent would do, Mom and Dad tried everything they knew — feeding her, comforting her, rocking her, and doing all of the things experienced parents do when their baby is struggling.

But nothing seemed to bring their little girl the relief they were hoping for.

The father reached out and asked, “Do you think chiropractic care could help our baby?”

I reassured him that I would be honored to evaluate M and see how I could help.

When they arrived, I asked Mom and Dad to gently lay M on her back while I washed my hands. As I walked over, I began by simply introducing myself to her — talking softly, making her comfortable, and letting her know she was safe.

One of the most important parts of caring for babies is earning their trust.

As I began my gentle assessment, I noticed something that would become an important part of the conversation. While talking with Mom and Dad, they shared that M had not been having regular bowel movements like she had before.

As we continued, M began to relax. During the visit, she started passing gas, which was an encouraging sign that her body was beginning to respond.

After finishing her care, I told Mom and Dad they could pick her up.

That moment is one I will never forget.

As soon as they held their daughter, they noticed she had already had a bowel movement. Mom took M to change her diaper, and after a little while, she came back with an amazed look on her face.

“She has already gone through three diapers in just a few minutes!”

Mom and Dad were stunned.

The baby who had been crying and struggling for days was now calm and comfortable. They were able to see their little girl finally relax.

The father told me something that really stood out:

“I have always believed in chiropractic care for myself, but I never imagined it could help a baby so quickly.”

The next morning, I reached out to check on how M had done overnight.

The response brought a smile to my face.

They told me that everyone in the house had finally gotten some much-needed rest. M was doing better, and they were incredibly thankful.

“We’re so thankful for your help,” her father said.

Stories like M’s are why I am so passionate about caring for families.

A baby’s body is incredible. From the moment they enter this world, their little bodies are constantly adapting, growing, and healing. Sometimes, they simply need a little support along the way.

As a parent, there is nothing harder than watching your child struggle and not knowing what to do next.

If your baby is having difficulty settling, sleeping, or simply does not seem like themselves, you do not have to navigate those concerns alone.

At Atlas Chiropractic Clinic, our goal is to provide gentle, thoughtful care while helping families understand how amazing the human body truly is.

I am grateful for the trust M’s parents placed in me, and I am honored every time a family allows me to be a part of their child’s health journey.

Your child’s story of hope could be next.
